Why the World needs Superman

Who Is the Man of steel ?
From Christopher Reeves to Brandon Routh, and Tom Welling to David Corenswet, the portrayal of Superman has become one of the most iconic superhero stories to ever be seen. The beloved character was first created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster in 1938. His public debut was in Action Comics #1, published on April 18, 1938.
His story starts with a young kal-el being sent away to earth by his help parentsto escape the destruction of his birth planet, krypton. His ship lands in a small farm in the fictional town named smallville in Kansas. He’s found by married farmers Martha and Johnathan Kent and they decide to raise him as if he was their own. Not knowing his real name, as he was just a baby they rename him Clark Kent. His parents love him unconditionally and helped shape his beliefs and values and support him through every step of the way. They teach him all the good in the world and treat him like the most special person not because of his identity but because of his heart.
As baby kal-el grew up into adult Clark Kent, he discovered he not only came from a different planet but he also inherited special powers from them such as the ability to fly, super strength, super hearing, X-ray vision and many more inhuman abilities which is only activated by the yellow sun. He finds a place called “The Fortress of Solitude” created by his kryptonian parents to guide him and teach him about his family history and planet. As time goes on and he matures, he decides to move to the city of Metropolis and live a double life to fight crime and threats.
He gets a job working as a reporter at the famous Daily Planet to be able to always be on the lookout for dangers he can go and stop and hide his secret identity as an alien. As he starts to go out and save people while keeping his identity a secret, the new mysterious hero earns a name for himself giving by Daily Planet Reporter, Lois Lane, who witnessed his heroic deeds and published her paper about him. Not knowing the Great hero is also he work Colleague and future love interest, Clark Kent.
But with great power also comes with great vulnerabilities such as radioactive minerals from his destroyed planet called Kryptonite that weakens him and could lead to his death if he gets too close for too much time. And not just that but his human like emotions and values also get in the way of his job as Superman.
Eventually, Kent forms close friendships with photographer Jimmy Olsen and fellow reporter Lois Lane. He even proceeds to reveal his identity to Lois Lane and even date and further on Marry her, making them a power couple and she inspires him to keep going, being his “sun” that gives him strength to fight against evil and help others as much as he can.

Love is strength
Superman is not just all strength, in fact one could say one of his bets traits is his personality. He always focuses on helping others and doing morally good. Growing in a farm with such loving parents, he grew up to be one of the most compassionate, selfless, and caring people. He brings hope to the people of metropolis and his world that there I someone defending them and spreading positivity in his day to day life whether he is acting as Superman or just as regular reporter Clark Kent.
In times like these, where there is so much political problems and hatred in the world, the Superman movie directed by James Gunn served as a beacon of hope to those in need. It helped establish the need for doing the positive good in order to save people and spread kindness and positivity to all. Superman’s responsibility to help all those in need whether it’s an innocent animal like a squirrel or the people of metropolis, Superman was portrayed as a character with great optimism and embodying justice throughout the world. As it’s not just implied but also said by his girlfriend Lois Lane in the movie.

“My point is I question everything and everyone. You trust everyone and think everyone you’ve ever met is like…beautiful.” -Lois Lane
This moment served to really separate a normal human like Lois who always seems skeptical and knows how much the world leading her to have her guard up and never fully be trusting. Opposite to Clark who even though he’s not human, he loves them and wants everyone to get the chance of being a good person and always wants the bad guys to feel remorse and be realize that good is better than bad. This establishes him as not just different from the rest in the sense that he’s powerful but he’s also a lot more human than most people out there and has string feelings towards humanity.
It important for the world to have this kind of hero be influencing media today. Superman doesn’t pick sides or thinks any one is better than the rest, he serves as an inspiration and symbol of what humanity can be if we fight for more good and justice in the world.
Superman never gives up on humanity and is constantly seeing the good In people even when most can’t, He loves more than anyone and constantly tries to reassure and protect everyone just because he knows that humans can cause greatness in the world.
Hopes remains just look up!

“I love, I-I get scared. I wake up every morning, and despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other, and I try to make the best choices that I can. I screw up all the time, but that is being human, and that’s my greatest strength”-Superman 2025
This is the most memorable quote from the 2025 Superman movie. It
helped truly show Superman’s intent and beliefs about being human. He proves to his enemy Lex Luther that he isn’t just another super powered alien saving the world because he can, he is just like any other person trying to do good and live his life as a better person everyday.
We need Superman as reminder that everyday is a new chance to be a better person and continue to try your best. Although none of us have any super powers or come from daffiness planets, our real superpower is love. Love is all around and we need to be constantly spreading positivity as it is so easy for people to lose hope and sight of what is in front if them because of all the bad things happening around the world. This movie showed all generations whether young or older, that we can all be like Superman and he really is just humanity’s symbol of what we can do to be the best versions of ourselves and strive as humanity together. We are no different from each other, we can all move towards a greater tomorrow one step at a time.
And whenever we need a reminder, just look up from the dark cloud of negativity and fear, and see how beautiful the world is, the air, the trees, inventions like large and airplanes and phones. The food we get to have, the jobs we can learn from, the people we love, all made by humanity for humanity.
If an alien can have faith in humanity, so can we.
